Job Description:

AT&T Global Public Sector is a trusted provider of secure, IP enabled, cloud-based, network solutions and professional services to the Federal Government. RIS I is the delivery of regional IT services to the end user. We offer support of end user devices including desktop, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. We support local and campus area networks, including wireless and cable plant.

AT&T has an opening for anAvailability Management Director to support the customer’s computer data communications systems, providing network event management and incident troubleshooting. Technicians provide additional support by ensuring network devices meet baseline configurations, software, and network performance standards. This individual supervises a team of 10 or more employees that are responsible for Technicians will make extensive use of Microfocus tools, ServiceNow, and knowledge of the various levels of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model to complete daily network Operations and Maintenance (O&M) tasks.

This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.

Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Excellent writing skills required for preparing documentation and other technical deliverables.
  • Manage technical teams who mission it is to provide Operations and Availability management, Change management and Problem management and network device management.
  • Oversee the customization and use and various network tools such as Solarwinds and Splunk to quickly identify and isolate customer impacting events on the network.
  • Organizes and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems for a 24x7 operations group.
  • Provides the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, user assistance, and coordination with customer operations leads.
  • Direct the development of processes, procedures and local work instructions in support of a 24x7 operations group.
  • Respond to, update, and resolve incident tickets within ServiceNow.
  • Coordinate the administration, upgrades and repairs hardware, systems software, applications software, and all hardware configurations.
  • Perform configuration management functions such as validating topology drawings and ensure that asset management records are accurate.
  • Leverage knowledge of OSI layers 1, 2, and 3 to manage the troubleshooting efforts related to various network faults and performance issues.
  • Communicate and troubleshoot with vendors, Tier 3 Service managers and customer Service Owners to efficiently resolve incidents.
  • Manage the diagnosis of hardware and software problems and coordinate the replacement of defective components.
  • Support network operations and maintenance activities via technical exchange meetings.
  • Provides hands-on guidance and training to more junior staff.

Required Qualifications: High School diploma, experience working in a high stress environment, professional demeanor under pressure, comfortable working with customers. Preferred 2 years experience working within an operational environment. Preferred experience working with SLAs.

Our Availability Management Director (TM II) (Government) earns between $98,100 - $133,000 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
