Job Description:
Responsible for helping to develop and implement highly complex external communications programs in support of the External and Legislative Affairs and Wireline Transformation organizations through media relations and strategic planning.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supports the team in developing the strategy, planning and execution of corporate communications programs to advance the company’s public policy objectives at the federal and state level.
- Supports the team in developing the strategy, planning and execution of corporate communications programs to support the company’s network transformation efforts.
- Serve as company spokesperson to the media and provide executive level counsel and support.
- Develop and direct external communications strategies, working cross-functionally with internal clients and partners (i.e., public affairs, social media, employee communications, corporate social responsibility).
- Support the development and distribution of content such as speeches, scripts, press releases, social media content and other materials for external and internal audiences.
- Must maintain a high-level understanding of industry trends, as well as the company’s priorities, issues and news to ensure effective communications planning and execution.
- Collaborate effectively and efficiently with peers at all levels across business units and work on complex problems requiring detailed analysis of unique factors.
Required experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism or related field.
- Strong media relations and issues management experience.
- Superior writing, editing and organizational skills.
- Experience communicating with senior leadership to provide council and recommendations on key initiatives.
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
Our Director Communications & PR earn between 143,800.00 - 215,800.00 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
