Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of DevOps engineers and operational support specialists to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of our systems and applications.
- Develop and implement strategies for effective DevOps practices, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Oversee the monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex technical issues related to application performance, database connectivity, and server configurations.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and IT teams to deploy new releases and updates, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Drive the automation of routine tasks using scripting languages such as Python and Shell.
- Ensure robust system administration practices, including backups, patching, and updates.
- Manage incident response and ensure timely resolution of issues, following established procedures.
- Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team, mentoring and guiding junior members.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of operational procedures, best practices, and documentation.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of DevOps tools and practices including Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Chef.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and automation.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Java, PHP, and JavaScript.
- Extensive experience with system administration on various operating systems including Linux, Windows, and Unix.
- Experience with web servers and application servers like Apache, Tomcat, WildFly, and JBOSS.
- Proficiency in managing databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
- Proficiency with version control tools such as GitHub, SVN, and other Version Control Tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in managing DevOps projects, operational support, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, practices, and tools.
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
- Extensive experience with database management and administration.
- Proficiency in multiple programming and scripting languages.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide team members.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with web application development and support.
- Knowledge of production operations best practices.
- Previous experience in a 24/7 support environment.
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Azure, Kubernetes, DevOps).
